I’m Shannon, a designer with a passion for exploring the world. I love how Graphic Design has followed me during life and has led me to undertake a degree in the subject at the Arts University Bournemouth.
Since starting my degree, I have come to believe that design is to do with the way you think and communicate, as well as being about problem finding and solving. Thus, conceptual thinking is key; you really need to understand the problem if you are to produce a meaningful piece of work.
Earlier this year I had the opportunity of undertaking a live brief with Thinking Juice for Roberts Radio. It was a collaborative project and our approach was to bring the old to the new. The client gave positive feedback and thought our idea was ‘great’ which gave us an insight on how to achieve a successful outcome in industry.
I also have had the chance to intern at Fireworx, a creative agency specialising in marketing. I worked alongside Dan, who is the managing director at Fireworx, as well as Ollie, a graphic designer. It was a great way of learning how industry works and how to approach and challenge live briefs.
